02 Aug Meet the Airshow Commentators for the Festival of Flight 2017
Airshow Commentators – meet the people behind the mics
So we’ve already introduced you to Andy Pawsey our lead commentator, now it’s time to meet the rest of the team.
Andy will be supported at the two-day airshow by seasoned broadcasters and self-confessed aviation buffs Jonathan Richards and Ben Dunnell.
Jonathan Richards has been in broadcasting for more than three decades – working as a news journalist, producer, and presenter. In recent years he has worked in duty editor positions for BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat and BBC World Service News. He’s currently Group Head of News for Celador Radio – running the news operation for 26 commercial radio stations across East Anglia and southern England. He’s describes himself as an aviation geek and says he’s excited to be involved in the Biggin Hill Festival of flight once again.
Ben Dunnell is the editor of Aeroplane magazine and the deputy editor of Combat Aircraft Monthly, both published by Key Publishing. A graduate of the University of Sheffield, a former political researcher and a lifelong aviation enthusiast, Ben has been commentating at air displays since 2009; he is the lead commentator at the Royal International Air Tattoo and the IWM Duxford airshows and has worked at many other events around the UK and mainland Europe. This will be Ben’s second consecutive appearance at Biggin Hill, and he is delighted to be invited back to one of Britain’s most famous venues.
Meet them in person at the Festival of Flight 2017.
