When is the Festival of Flight and what time do the gates open and close?

Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th August 2017 – gates open at 9.00am and the event finishes at 5.30pm on these dates.

What time does the flying start?

Flying is expected to start at 12.00pm and finish at around 5.30pm.

Can I find out flying times prior to the event?

No, we cannot confirm exact timings before the event, but our latest blog will give you an idea https://lbhacommunity.co.uk/2017/08/10/flying-display-times/. The event programme which you can purchase on the day will contain the intended flying program.

Are dogs allowed?

Only assistance dogs are permitted to enter the showground. Please do not leave dogs in your vehicle.

Do you provide seating?

No, there is no seating provided, you are welcome to bring your own.

Can I bring a BBQ?

No, BBQs or anything similar are not permitted on the airfield.

Can I bring Tents?

No – tents, gazebos and parasols are not permitted on the airfield. Please think of others when you set up your chairs / viewing area, please don’t block any views or take up too much room.

Tickets

Will I be able to buy tickets on the day?

Tickets will be limited to 15,000 per day and only available for purchase as E-tickets via www.lbhacommunity.co.uk/tickets

Are there any concessions?

No, we do not offer any concessions on tickets.

Do you sell family tickets?

No, we no longer sell family tickets as children now go free with each adult ticket (max 2 children per adult).

Do children require a ticket?

No, up to 2 children (under 16 years old) may enter for free with every paying adult and do not need a ticket. Any more than 2 would require an adult ticket.

On the Ground

Will there be food and drink available or can I bring my own food?

There will be two food courts in the showground containing 24 food units, bars, coffee and sweets outlet, but if you would like to bring your own picnic you may.

Is there a funfair?

Yes, funfair suitable for all age groups.

Where do I buy programmes?

Programmes will be sold on the day at the showground entry points.

Can we meet the pilots?

Yes the ‘Meet the Pilots’ area is near the pedestrian entrance near the flightline.

Disabled Visitors

Is there parking for blue badge holders?

Yes there is an area at the front of the car park reserved for vehicles displaying a blue badge. Local air cadets and air scouts will be on hand to assist if required however please be aware that the minimum distance to the flightline from the car park is 200m.

If I don't have a blue badge but require disabled parking what should I do?

We ask that you speak to our showground staff who have been advised to use their discretion and will direct you to the disabled parking.

Can I bring my carer for free?

Unfortunately we are unable to offer any concessions.

Can I hire wheelchairs?

There is no facility to hire wheelchairs on site.

Are there disabled toilets?

Yes there will be a number of disabled toilets on the showground.
